Happy Resurrection Sunday Indeed!

What a wonderful weekend it has been indeed! HE IS RISEN! AMEN! HALLELUJAH!
I sure hope all you wonderful family and friends had a restful and enjoyable weekend! What a great celebration we have! That Jesus died on that cross for our sins, though He's no longer there, nor ever has to be again... because it is FINISHED! Then He arose from the grave 3 days later... conquering sin, death, and the grave, telling death NO! FOR THEY ARE MINE, AND NOT EVEN YOU, DEATH, CAN HOLD ME DOWN! Now He sits at the right hand of the FATHER, and is returning again.... Aaaaamen!

We had a wonderful service at church as we closed up on the book of Mark in the 16th chapter today... while rightly dividing the Word and studying out like true Bereans! When we arrived home, we came into delight of the hard work of my Mother-in-Law. The house was fresh, clean, and the aroma of Resurrection Sunday dinner was in the air. She slow cooked beef tenderloin. Cooked up some; mashed potatoes, steamed asparagus, grands biscuits, made a delicious broccoli slaw salad, she was amazing! I made a Philly New York Cheesecake, complete with Cherry pie filling as our topping... yum yum. We had over some wonderful family and couldn't have been more blessed! The Lord is good.

After dinner the kids did their annual Egg Hunt, and boy did they have fun! We had a special little friend join us too. Caleb joined us for the first time this year and we were so happy to have him, his mommy Jen, and new baby sister Avia (Hebrew name: Ah Vee Ah).

Some very much needed family pictures and pregnancy photos were taken... enjoy!

UPDATE ON THE HOUSE:

Brad and Larry have worked very hard these past 2 weeks trying to balance work and remodeling the house. So far they've ripped up the flooring in the kitchen, took out the old cabinets (which are now in the garage for Brad's storage and use), torn out the old breakfast bar, & taken out a partial wall. They've redone some other things that I can't quite remember right now... Ha, pregnancy brain. They have torn up the bathroom floor... and ta-da, original Oak FLOORS! Ha, hah! They're going to try and salvage the flooring. They stripped up the plastic tub lining around the wall and I think they took out the tub. They've done quite a bit and have progressed very far along! Our very dear frien,d Steve May is expected to come in this coming Friday to help with plumbing and other do-da's around the house. With Brad being off NEXT week, not this coming week, will really get us ahead of the game. Our amazing brother Todd and his wife Laina, & Kysa in tow, will be here around the 12th to help us paint! ACK! Can you believe all of this blessing? Our kitchen cabinets and such will be coming in about the next 3-4 weeks! We'll have the floor tiled and the walls painted... then we'll put up some back splash tile! I have some time still to really nail down my decorating ideas... and yes your ideas are welcome... a far as color palettes and room themes... no Disney or princess... we're going traditional/vintage/country... pretty unique and interesting eh?.... I do have some BEFORE pictures to show you of our house.... I also will show you a neat photo op Brad did to the outside of the house using Sherwin Williams website tool. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SMILES, HUGS, PRAYERS, AND THOUGHTS! WE SERIOUSLY COVET THEM AND NEED THEM! *muah*

What you see is the enclosed front porch... sweetness.

This is amazing! (NO the car is not ours LOL)
Brad did this using Sherwin Williams Paint website tool.
This is our vision for the color of our house... I'm not sold on shutters.

Beautiful Original Oak Front Door. We're going to refinish this beauty.
(House was built back in 1943)

Kitchen before demo. Believe it or not we will have 9' of counter space on that back wall! This is going to be a mini gourmet kitchen complete with snack bar.

This is what you see opposite of the Kitchen. A beautiful Oak built out Buffet and China Cabinet. Once refinished with some lighting... yow!

Oak floors. Wish you could see the hardware on the Build Out... they look like little crystals.

Living room facing front porch. I love the big windows!

Living Room (same side as above but you can see the dining room entrance.)
I'm teasing you too b/c I left out a neat part of this room for later. ;-)

Huge wasted space in the front yard. With my friend and family members who know a thing or two about gardening... this baby is going to be beautiful... do you know I have a Hydrangea VINE right there? I also have Honey Suckle babies growing too... somebody hacked down the mature Honey Suckle in the back yard...plan to bring that to life.
Got any pretty landscaping ideas... send em' to me!

I'll be updating you all in a couple of weeks with more baby news and house updates and anything the Lord lays on my heart!

With great love and affection,

The Jerdons :)

Transitions, Celebrations, and Praises!

A warm hello to all of my family and friends! Brad, the kids, and I are so excited to share some really wonderful things with you, as our title suggests! I have one little rant... I like facebook, but you really can't share the thorough thoughts you have and want to share, like you can on a blog! So hopefully this year more updates and things going on in our journey will be shared more often right here!

First let's just praise the Lord that we're in a beautiful new year and many new and wonderful happenings are going on for us all. PRAISE YOU JESUS!

Brad is still working for G.F.S. and he likes it still very much. There might be a possible opening for him to transfer onto a route! That would be amazing. We'd like it if he could have one out of Niles! Especially because our new house will be downtown! Whoo Hoo!

This is the house we will be closing on this month!
We have some wonderful plans for this beauty. Imagine deep red and white trim!
Another really cool thing is that we know some of our neighbors already! This house is off of Union street which crosses Lincoln Street. How unique is that? As updates come along I'll share them in the near future! :-)

We are enjoying our last few months with Brad's parents. They've been so gracious to us and so giving. It will be a bittersweet transition. What I hope is that at least once a week we can have dinner together and maybe some grandkids can visit on the weekends. ;-) Recently we've celebrated 3 birthdays! Brad 3/12, Elisha 3/4, and Larry 3/6! I took advantage of these special occasions and made some yummy dinners! Not to mention some yummy deserts Betty and I made, (ahem and bought).

Enjoy the moments....

Homemade crescent roll dough wrapped around pizza sauce and all the goodies. This dinner didn't even have left overs! :-)

Elisha's Birthday cake. Store bough Paula Dean Strawberry Pound Cake! Oh so yummy! The kids called this cake, The Doughnut Cake.

A Happy 5th Birthday Video to share with you all! Thanks for loving her so much!

My cuties! Happy after singing Happy Birthday to Elisha!

Brad an innocent by-stander smiling as handsome as you please close by the Strawberry Shortcake wall decal! (he,he)

Elisha a little embarrassed from all the singers, singing!

Time to blow out the candles!
(Not a store bought cake! Homemade Chiffon cake with WhipcreamCreamcheese Icing and homemade strawberry filling sauce. There' only one piece left in the fridge as I write.)

Now for some more exciting news...
As of today I am 16 weeks and 5 days pregnant with our little precious bundle of joy! I'll wait to show U.sound pics around 20 weeks. The Lord did good in that He tricked us a little.... haha or just let us believe that we were 10-12 weeks along at our first ultrasound! We got in there, and I was a little nervous to say the least... 1st trimester is always a nerveracker for me. As soon as baby is on the screen I'm thinking... huh? Is there more than one... Nope.... just a lot of baby for 10 weeks. The doctor of that maternity clinic walks in and as friendly as you please says... wow that's a lot of baby there for 10 weeks. Huh, just what I was thinking. I ask politely... how far along am I... He responds as a matter of factly... 14 weeks and 5 days! WOW-WEE-WOW-WOW-WOW! I'm so happy you know... we're over that little hump! We're officially in 2nd trimester.... whoohoo! Our God is greater, Our God is higher than any other! SO LIFT HIM UP! Everything is going great and growing fine! :-) I'm even in my maternity clothes... hehe! I had 4-6 people ask me yesterday at church... um are you expecting or do you have something you wanna tell me... with the biggest grin I wanted to say... sure I've gained some weight... haha... but really I said Uh yes... I am 16 weeks and 4 days along... YEAH! My pastors wife was so excited for us.... God is good.

I'll finish up here and leave you with a wonderful scripture that is guarding my heart this week...

James 3:17-18

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

May the Lord bless you and yours and may you bless Him and His Kingdom.
From the journey with love,

Brad, Leslie, Elisha, and Elijah.... and baby :)

P.S. I wanted to share the crescent roll recipe I found... (takes 10 minutes to prep or less if you're quicker, and 45 minutes to rise.... less then 15 to bake... 70 minutes later or less you have some yummy goodness! I usually prep it earlier in the day and let it set at room temp.)
